Develop Ability to Continuously Scan the Field

Vision Training

Soccer requires the players on the field to make all the tactical decisions at GAME SPEED. They only way they can make these decisions is if they have their heads up and are scanning the field. This ability is also required while the players are executing their technical skills. The goal is to get the technical skills to become 2nd nature so they can focus on "seeing" the game more and making better tactical decisions.

How I Teach Vision Training

I use blaze pods all around the players training area
The player must scan all directions to identify the correct blaze pod, then make the correct decision based on the color of the blaze pod or the technical skill associated with the drill
